Funding comes from a voter-approved 2018 bond election, and the price tag came in under the city&#8217;s $1.25 million budget for the project.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes a complete reconstruction of the trail, which the city initially acquired in 1971. An extension was added in 2001. Magnolia Fire responded along with MCHD. The caller said they knew they hit the bike but could not find the victim. When units arrived they found a bicycle impaled in the right front of a Mazda passenger car. . Crews found the victim about 50-feet back and about 15-feet off the roadway, between the road and the railroad tracks. He was deceased. DPS Troopers assisted Magnolia Police in the crash.
