ABILENE, TX \u00e2\u20ac\u201c The BikeTown bicycle shop building in Abilene suffered damage during an early morning fire on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to the Abilene Fire Department, the fire began at approximately 1:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene they found heavy smoke and flames shooting out of the building.<\/p>\n

No one was injured in the fire and the business was not open at the time of the blaze.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire and the estimated damages have not been determined at this time.<\/p>\n

TxDOT clarifies speed limit reduction plan on Texas 105<\/a><\/h2>\n

After approving an ordinance in May that would lower the speed limit on Texas 105 to 45 mph from Conroe to Montgomery during a state construction project, the Conroe City Council revisited the issue during its workshop meeting Wednesday.<\/p>\n

During the council\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s May 26 workshop, Director of Engineering and Capital Projects Tommy Woolley presented the information to the council regarding the Texas Department of Transportation\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s desire to lower the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph during the project. …<\/p>\n

… According to TxDOT\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s website, the project will improve safety and reduces crashes, improve mobility, reduce congestion, provide different means of travel and improve accessibility by creating safer travel to land development.<\/p>\n

The improvements include left and dual left turns, right turn lanes, raised medians, traffic signal modifications, signal timing improvements, sidewalk connections, ADA compliant curb ramps, improved pedestrian signals, improved shoulders and bicycle accommodations.<\/p>\n
