When I got home and was taking my front tire out of the Jeep I noticed it was soft from losing air. Partially relieved and also perturbed I set it aside to look at later after we unpacked and got things in order. When I inspected the tire I found one goat head thorn sticking out of the sidewall not far from the valve stem. I am not sure when I got this but maybe it was during this morning’s ride. I do not remember getting into the grass but maybe it was in the road. Back before my first Hotter’n Hell 100 I read about how these thorns could wreak havoc on riders and over the years I have managed to avoid them most of the time. I have seen people walking their bike with several clinging to their tires.

Below are the charts and maps for these two days. I need to apologize for the poor camera work when I was riding through Sheppard Air Force Base and the airmen were cheering. I was waving the camera in response to their cheering.

I did a lot of riding these two days in Wichita Falls.
