{"id":57148,"date":"2021-08-11T22:38:22","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T03:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.texbiker.net\/blog\/?p=57148"},"modified":"2021-08-11T22:38:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T03:38:34","slug":"texas-biking-news-august-11th-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.texbiker.net\/blog\/2021\/08\/11\/texas-biking-news-august-11th-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Biking News August 11th 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-markdown\"><h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/news\/who-are-the-us-riders-in-the-vuelta-a-espana-2021\">Who are the US riders in the Vuelta a Espa\u00c3\u00b1a 2021?<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>By Tim Bonville-Ginn | www.cyclingweekly.com<\/h4>\n<p>The Vuelta a Espa\u00c3\u00b1a is just a few days away now and with a a-list looking start sheet set to roll off the ramp in Burgos on Saturday, August 14.<\/p>\n<p>There is a good amount of interest for American fans with seven riders from the States taking part from five different teams &#8211; UAE Team Emirates, Team Jumbo-Visma, EF Education-Nippo, Trek-Segafredo and Team DSM.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Lawson Craddock &#8211; EF Education-Nippo\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net\/hELtstLAwemTCghygLtGni-1024-80.jpg.webp?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Lawson Craddock is is one of the most solid riders in the pro peloton and it is surprising that he hasn&#8217;t won more than once in his career.<\/p>\n<p>That win came in the national time trial championships in Knoxville, Tennessee where he beat the likes of Chad Haga (DSM) and the retiring Tejay Van Garderen (EF Education-Nippo).<\/p>\n<p>The rider from Houston, Texas, also came fifth in the US national road race. Away from that he was close to winning the mountains standings at the Dauphin\u00c3\u00a9 where he finished second.<\/p>\n<p>But his early season did have four DNFs and low placings along the way. But it does seem he is on the way to good form again with a good ride at the Vuelta a Burgos. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Chad Haga &#8211; Team DSM\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net\/9ws6U5dnerSggeZxwDruak-1024-80.jpg.webp?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The ever dependable support rider, Chad Haga is set to ride his 12th Grand Tour for Team DSM and while he has only taken two wins in his career, one at the Giro d&#8217;Italia, he is still worthwhile to have in the team to support the team&#8217;s leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Haga isn&#8217;t in the team for his own results, aside from National Championships where he came sixth in the road race and second in the time trial this year, but he is in Spain to look after the main men of the team.<\/p>\n<p>Romain Bardet and Alberto Dainese will be those riders at the Vuelta.<\/p>\n<p>The 32-year-old from McKinney, Texas has only raced twice since the Nationals in Knoxville.
