The last day of August has arrived and I am just a few miles short of the 600 mile mark that was my goal. If had rode yesterday it would have put me over the top but I had some chores around home that needed to get done plus I wanted to watch stage 3 of the Vuelta a’ Espana that I had recorded earlier in the day. Rain was in the area although it did not land at our place. Our yard is super dry so it was a relief for it to rain yesterday and today in the afternoon. By the time I got home from work today the roads had dried out and riding was not a problem except for a couple of low spots. The grass and plants might make it now.<\/p>\n

No other riders were spotted on the route this evening. Daylight is getting shorter especially with the clouds from the rain. With 4 months left and about 1500 miles to go for my year’s goal (5200 miles) I will need to average 400 miles per month. When November and December get here that will be difficult.<\/p>\n
