When I got up around 6:30 AM the temperature was 59 degrees, brrrr!. With the chill and sunrise not happening until 7:02 AM the bike ride didn&#8217;t start until 8:53 AM. I debated about beefing up my bike kit but opted for shorts, short sleeve jersey, and arm sleeves. My usual Saturday ride route was the order for the day. I rode my Canyon Endurace CF SLX bike for <strong>32.35 miles<\/strong>. This put the week at <strong>218.75 miles<\/strong>. The last time I biked less than 200 miles in a week was June 17th &#8211; 23rd. This was the 5th time biking today&#8217;s route in 2021. YTD 2021 continues to lead 2020 by <strong>231 miles<\/strong> with <strong>7,127 miles <\/strong>this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 My kit choice turned out to be a good one. I almost chose not to take my CamelBak and use one of my new Polar water bottles but I stuck with the CamelBak because I thought it would warm up. Weather summary: start 71 (73% humidity, 62 dew point), a few clouds, wind NE 5 mph; finish 84 (47% humidity, 62 dew point), a few clouds, wind E 10 mph. The other cyclists I saw dressed like me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I got to FM 2100 I decided to explore the new under construction southbound lanes. I rode north across from Lake Houston Untied Methodist Church where the pavement ended (see the video). It looks like the section from there to the railroad tracks are close to paving. There is a sidewalk along this side of the road too. It sits back from the road 40 to 50 feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not all of the cyclists I encountered made it in the video. Some caught me in a position not able to get the GoPro out in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of things I enjoy about biking is time to think. Many subjects come up. Sometimes I solve a problem, other times I create one. Memories come up too. Today I thought about what I was doing on 9\/11\/2001 when I learned about the planes crashing into the NYC towers. I was at work when my boss called me to look at the TV in his office. We couldn&#8217;t believe what we were seeing.
