A celebration on two wheels: The Texas Tour \u2013 Texas is big, your heart is bigger<\/a><\/h2>\n

There is still time for cyclists to join the Texas Tour, riding across the Texas Hill Country, Feb. 28, benefitting Mesivta of Houston, a boy\u2019s yeshiva high school. The tour will begin in College Station at the Hilton Conference Center, cross the prairies and lakes region of Central Texas and then finish at the edge of Texas\u2019 beautiful Hill Country, along the bike paths of Austin\u2019s metropolitan parks.<\/p>\n

Frisco releases new interactive \u2018story map\u2019 showcasing top hike-and-bike trails<\/a><\/h2>\n

Residents of Frisco and the general public have a new tool at their disposal to discover popular hike-and-bike trails in the city.<\/p>\n

The new Frisco Trails Story Map was featured in a Dec. 30 installment of the city\u2019s \u201cProgress in Motion\u201d video series. The map, which uses the city\u2019s geographic information system technology, highlights the top 10 trails in Frisco. Specifics on several walking loops and a link to the city\u2019s complete Hike and Bike Master Plan are also available.<\/p>\n

Chris Shuma, a GIS analyst for the city, said the map came from collaboration between the IT, parks and recreation, and engineering departments. Their goal, he said, was to …<\/p>\n

Bicycles and Bibles<\/a><\/h2>\n

Her mother was taken by the COVID-19 pandemic just two months ago, but a Beaumont 5-year-old told her 23-year-old sister\/soon-to-be adopted mom that Christmas 2021 was the best she\u2019s ever had \u2013 all thanks to the Reaud Charitable Foundation\u2019s annual Bicycles and Bibles event.<\/p>\n

LeAnne was a year old when Wayne A. Reaud gave away 125 bikes at the Beaumont Civic Center ahead of Christmas 1999. As she grew, so too did Bicycles and Bibles\u2019 giving, from 125 bikes and Bibles to 1,000 bikes, Bibles and other gifts each year. And when she became an impromptu mother, barely having the wherewithal to take on parental responsibilities accompanying a 5-year-old, let alone providing Christmas for the child, Bicycles and Bibles was there to fulfill its mission: showing compassion and spreading blessings.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Bicycles and Bibles, LeAnne and her boyfriend were able to give the little girl a bike and Bible, along with a sackful of gifts. Without the philanthropic actions of families like the Reauds in Beaumont, some of …<\/p>\n
