We even returned to the same photoshoot location.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a Radavist veteran, you may have caught its feature when the bike was fully clad in Dura Ace 9000 and finished with Enve and Chris King. It was a stunner, but lived an uneventful life, clocking less than 500mi in its Shimano days before finding its new home with David Ross. &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/houstonparksboard\/a-message-from-houston-parks-board-13393210?e=f211fb8d6b\">Houston Parks Board has good news to share about the MKT Bridge!<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Houston Parks Board | mailchi.mp<\/h4>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mcusercontent.com\/ff3d9c70ba822b9ef8125bc31\/images\/d155dd7d-43ba-c369-c065-941fa46d8853.jpg?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The plan documents needed for the additional repairs to address damage caused by the August 2020 fire have received expedited approval by the City of Houston and Harris County Flood Control District. With this necessary step now complete, Houston Parks Board continues to move forward with repair work to this vital trail connection.<\/p>\n<p>On-site construction on the bridge is expected to resume in March, after steel is fabricated for the repairs. The bridge, which carries the Heights Hike and Bike Trail across the bayou, has been closed since August 2019 due to a fire.<\/p>\n<p>Months of delay in fixing a key trail connection soon may come to an end, with workers set to begin repairs to the M-K-T Bridge next month.<\/p>\n<p>The Houston Parks Board said Friday that Houston and Harris County Flood Control had granted expedited approval of repair plans for the historic bridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn-site construction on the bridge is expected to resume in March, after steel is fabricated for the repairs,\u201d the nonprofit parks board said in a statement, \u201cConstruction is estimated to be complete in late Summer 2022, weather permitting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The existing detour that forces runners and bike riders to &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/austinmountainbiking.com\/index.php?\/topic\/3785-area-51-aka-little-walnut-creek-greenbelt-e51st-springdale\/&amp;tab=comments#comment-56206\">&quot;AREA 51&quot; aka Little Walnut Creek Greenbelt E.51st &amp; Springdale<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>By cmc4130 | austinmountainbiking.com<\/h4>\n<p>This long-neglected property (can hardly call it a park yet) got renewed attention a few years ago, when the Pecan Springs\/Springdale Neighborhood Association did a lot of advocacy and secured grant funding to get a Master Plan developed.  ARR participated in that Master Plan process.   As some of you may know, the existing trails in this Greenbelt are really rough&#8211;some are hobo trails, some are old motocross\/pit-bike trails, a few are old abandoned jeep roads.   Austin Parks Foundation funded the new entrance and kiosk to the park off Springdale Road.  Neighbors and ARR also worked on a short walking loop up by Springdale, and the neighborhood is actively working with PARD and APF towards a playground up there.   The Master Plan (link below) discusses existing social trails and existing MTB uses.
