Effort to connect SA and Austin with 100 miles of trails underway<\/a><\/h2>\n

A vision that will take nearly a decade in a half to become reality is already building excitement in central and south Texas.<\/p>\n

The Great Springs Project is underway. The plan is connect San Antonio to Austin through 100 miles of a series of trails through famous and historic springs along the way.<\/p>\n

The project’s leader, a new board member and the local cycling community all weighed in on what the new trail system could mean for the area and their hopes for the future.\nChapter 1 The project<\/p>\n

Hey anyone living on the west side! I’ve been working with the Energy Corridor District to create a new cycling club. Since losing Bicycle World on Memorial\/Dairy Ashford Rd, the Energy Corridor has not had a cycling presence. I’ve been leading my neighborhood group for the last year and a half but have decided to expand it to the entire Energy Corridor area. It’s just getting up and running, but I am hopeful eventually we’ll have a lot of cyclists of all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n
