Not to be outdone, the local mountain bike community, Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association, chooses the last weekend in July to hold their version of such an event called Judgment Day.<\/p>\n<p>Participants are challenged to complete 10 mountain bike trails within 24 hours, choosing between a 70-mile version and a 100-mile version. The event &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/news\/local\/2022\/08\/04\/city-parks-broadway-plan-as-txdot-holds-firm-on-keeping-existing-lanes\/\">Video: City parks Broadway plan as TxDOT holds firm on keeping existing lanes<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Garrett Brnger | www.ksat.com<\/h4>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/res.cloudinary.com\/graham-media-group\/image\/upload\/f_auto\/q_auto\/c_scale%2Cw_800\/v1\/media\/gmg\/5CWALKVGJBG4TJQ6OOHCTGR2TA.PNG?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>City says the plan &#8211; and $65M in local funds &#8211; to redevelop the corridor are \u201con hold\u201d as state comes up with its own design<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio \u2013 The City of San Antonio\u2019s plan to redevelop Broadway as a \u201ccomplete street\u201d with bike lanes, expansive sidewalks and landscaping has come to a halt.<\/p>\n<p>But whether it\u2019s a dead end or just a red light remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>After a meeting Thursday with the heads of the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Transportation Commission, Mayor Ron Nirenberg said in an emailed statement, \u201cWe learned today that TxDOT\u2019s priority is not improving traffic flow and mitigating congestion, it\u2019s all about six lanes of asphalt, regardless of capacity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTxDOT tells us they will work on a plan that keeps the six-lane roadway and addresses pedestrian safety and multimodal mobility.
