It\u2019s too difficult.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Herweck\u2019s isn\u2019t alone in such struggles.<\/p>\n<p>On North Main Avenue, the owner of Charles A. James Bicycle Shop has been lodging complaints with the city over street parking in the area, much of which has been displaced during a street reconstruction project slated to wrap up by 2024. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/s.hdnux.com\/photos\/01\/27\/50\/17\/22971350\/3\/2400x0.jpg?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; A tale of two businesses<\/p>\n<p>The loss of parking on North Main has been a challenge for Charles A. James Bicycle Shop . Its customers have been riding or carrying their bikes for several blocks to get to the store, its front entrance hidden behind tall fences.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1920, the oldest bike shop in San Antonio has suffered a sudden 40 percent drop in monthly revenue since the Weston Urban tower\u2019s construction began this year, its owner said. A San Antonio police sergeant at the scene said that the man, believed to be in his 50s, was riding his bike in the grass on the side of the road when an unidentified vehicle struck the man and then fled the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The San Antonio Police Department said that there were no witnesses to the hit-and-run and that the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The traffic investigations detail is looking into the case. Once I entered I90 every 18 wheeler was out delivering. Strong headwinds were the topic of conversation when we got to Van Horn campground. They blew hard making downhills feel like uphills. Super nice to have a shorter distance day. Dropped into Asians Cafe for a latte. Talked to Ron who hailed from Maine.
