P2H is a serious cyclist, which (partly) explains the silky smooth gams. He\u2019s also the executive director of the Circuit Trail Conservancy, the folks building The LOOP, a 50-mile paved trail around Dallas. So when P2H asked if we wanted to come have a look at part of The LOOP called the Spine Trail before it officially opens, we loaded up our bikes.<\/p>\n<p>A few details to bear in mind: Matt Goodman, our online editorial director, is from Houston. Also, he doesn\u2019t own a bike. P2H owns about 17 bikes, so he brought one for Matt to use. It had a basket on front.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Lavin, our staff photographer, didn\u2019t have a bike until a couple of &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwtx.com\/2022\/11\/05\/killeen-police-investigate-fatal-bicycle-crash\/\">Killeen police investigate a fatal bicycle crash<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>www.kwtx.com<\/h4>\n<p>KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) &#8211; The Killeen Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a bicyclist Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded at 7:39 p.m. Nov. 4 to a call in reference to a crash involving a bicycle and a car near the intersection of Florence Road and Brookway Drive.<\/p>\n<p>Upon the officers\u2019 arrival, they located an unresponsive man lying in the roadway and attempted to perform life saving measures until paramedics arrived on scene.<\/p>\n<p>The preliminary investigation revealed that a white Lincoln MKZ was traveling northbound on Florence Road when the bicyclist that was traveling southbound on the northbound shoulder, suddenly turned and entered the roadway in front of the sedan.<\/p>\n<p>Claborn Joiner, 47, died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson at 8:22 p.m. &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntdaily.com\/sprockets-bicycle-shop-announces-closure\/\">Sprockets Bicycle Shop announces closure<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>by Kaitlynn Hutchins | www.ntdaily.com<\/h4>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ntdaily.com\/wp-uploads\/2022\/11\/AL_Sprocket-1-scaled-680x365_c.jpg?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Sprockets Bicycle Shop, known for its \u201ccustomer service manager\u201d Kitsun\u00e9 Doge, a Shiba Inu who frequents the store, has served the Denton community for a decade.<\/p>\n<p>Located just off the square on West Hickory Street, Sprockets aims to provide affordable, high-quality bicycle sales and service. The business became a part of the local landscape when it opened in August 2011, but at the end of this year, Sprockets will close its doors permanently.<\/p>\n<p>Sprockets announced their official closing date on Facebook on Oct. 19.<\/p>\n<p>Owner and university alumnus Brandon Dupr\u00e9 said the shop hit its peak in the years leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic. Up until 2020, the store\u2019s primary customer base was college students, so once lockdowns and online classes started there was less of a need for bike service.
