Martinez | news.yahoo.com<\/h4>\n<p>The Brownsville Herald, Texas\nJan. 5\u2014The Texas Department of Transportation encourages residents living in its Pharr District, which includes Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, Starr, Willacy and Zapata counties, to participate in a survey pertaining to bicycle needs in the area.<\/p>\n<p>According to TxDOT, it wants to identify opportunities to develop bikeway networks integrated with the state system to improve safety, connectivity and access within and between districts.<\/p>\n<p>The Pharr District is one of four in the state chosen to be part of the pilot program. The other districts are Bryan, Laredo and San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The district bike plans will analyze needs on the highway system, prioritize routes, &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cedarhillracefestival.org\/2023\/01\/mens-50-race-now-combined-with-mens-40\/\">Men\u2019s 50+ Race NOW COMBINED with Men\u2019s 40+<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Cedar Hill Race Festival | www.cedarhillracefestival.org<\/h4>\n<p>The men\u2019s 50+ race has been moved FROM the Elite Women\u2019s race TO the men\u2019s 40+ race at the upcoming Cedar Hill Road Race. The men\u2019s 60+ race is still combined with the Elite Women\u2019s race. The races will race combined but be scored separately.<\/p>\n<p>For Men 40+ racers this change means you no longer have your own race as the 50+ will be combined with you.<\/p>\n<p>For Men 50+ racers this change means your race now starts at 10:55a instead of 9:32a, will be 19 laps &amp; 36.1 miles instead of 13 laps &amp; 24.7 miles, and will not be racing combined with the Elite Women nor the 60+ men.<\/p>\n<p>For Men 60+ racers this &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/reduceflooding.com\/2023\/01\/06\/next-leg-of-san-jacinto-west-fork-greenway-now-hike-and-bikeable\/\">Next Leg of San Jacinto West Fork Greenway Now Hike- and Bikeable<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>by Bob Rehak | reduceflooding.com<\/h4>\n<p>The second leg of the Houston Parks Board\u2019s San Jacinto River West Fork Greenway is taking shape nicely. Contractors have apparently finished concrete work and landscaping. It can now be hiked and biked.\nRoute of San Jacinto West Fork Greenway<\/p>\n<p>The first leg of the three-mile route starts near the entrance to River Grove Park at the south end of Woodland Hills Drive in Kingwood. It used existing residential streets and new trails to snake its way to the Forest Cove Community Center. Then construction paused until demolition of the flooded townhomes on Aqua Vista, Timberline, and Marina Drives finished.<\/p>\n<p>The second leg (dark purple below) follows existing streets through the old townhome site. However, contractors narrowed the streets to one lane.
