Memorial Park\u2019s historic Land Bridge opens Saturday with free picnic<\/a><\/h2>\n

Music, a children’s play zone, food trucks, bike valet and free H-E-B lunches (while they last) will help usher in the park’s latest evolution\n\"\"\/<\/p>\n

Biking is encouraged, with a bike valet on hand, when Memorial Park hosts what organizers are calling \u201cThe Biggest Picnic in Texas\u201d this weekend.<\/p>\n

The free celebration introduces the public to the new Kinder Land Bridge and Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Prairie.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do things big in Texas and at the biggest picnic, we\u2019re going to live up to the name,\u201d says Memorial Park Conservancy\u2019s Holli Clements.<\/p>\n

She calls the park\u2019s expansion \u2014 which provides a safe pedestrian passage over Memorial Drive, connecting the north and south sides of Memorial Park \u2014 historic for Houston.<\/p>\n
