She watched cyclists bike down the highway and look upon Kyle Field in the distance off F.M. 60.<\/p>\n<p>When she reached the finish line at A&amp;M\u2019s football stadium, Bates said she knew she should have been doing other things as president of the organization\u2019s event. Instead, she ran to the field to watch cyclists cross the 50-yard line to finish their bike ride of up to 180 miles designated to fundraise for awareness and to find a cure for multiple sclerosis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was our dreams come true finally to have this extraordinary event that impacts so many people finally come to life in such a gorgeous place,\u201d Bates said. &#8230;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbs7.com\/2023\/02\/09\/midland-county-commissioners-plan-bring-new-attraction-residents\/\">Video: Midland County Commissioners plan to bring new hiking &amp; biking trail to region<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>By Noe Ortega | www.cbs7.com<\/h4>\n<p>MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) -If you\u2019re a fan of cycling, you may have a new attraction coming your way.<\/p>\n<p>The Midland County Commissioners Court wants to make a new bike and hike trail in Midland, right next to the Horseshoe Arena.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Luis Sanchez says he\u2019s heard many residents complain about not having many things to do in West Texas.<\/p>\n<p>But he believes a new 22 acre bike trail will help residents have more activities to do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that we have the opportunity with the sales tax revenue that we\u2019ve been collecting, I think it\u2019s a phenomenal idea to go ahead and start moving forward on that. Officials met with residents in February to hold their first public meeting on Magnolia&#8217;s master thoroughfare plan. Preschool parents Philip and Kristie Graf created and presented this fun and informative activity at both campuses, and invited children to bring their own bikes or ride-on toys and safety gear. James Bike Co., the oldest bike shop in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust turned 103 years old,\u201d Estrada said. \u201cI want to keep the store going still. I don\u2019t want to see it shut down. We\u2019re doing everything we can to stay open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hank\u2019s dad, Henry, was the previous owner of the Charles A. James Bike shop, a thriving business during the 1970s bike boom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack then, we were doing an average of 25 repairs a day,\u201d Hank Estrada said. \u201cAnd selling about 2000 bikes a month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He says business had been steady since he took over the shop in 2002.
