The award winners were chosen based on organizational criteria and results in developing junior and U23 cycling athletes. The portions were a bit smaller than what I was used to.  Anyway, I chowed down and ate it all.  When preparing the tent for bed, my next door neighbor in an RV invited me over.  Lydia is a 90 year old woman who has a front row seat at the park to all the cyclists that come and go there.  She was very nice and as we conversed, she invited me in to see her sewing.  Yes, I know this sounds odd, but sewing runs in my family and I do like to see what others do.<\/p>\n<p>She was making towels for a church fundraiser and was quite animated about all the details,  Even at 90 and living alone, she had good mental acuity and walks the park many times a day.  She told me stories of how she offers coffee to all the cyclists that come through.  Since I&#8217;m not a coffee drinker, I thanked her for the offer.  It was getting dark and I was ready to turn in.  The park was close to a busy road and some railroad tracks. I waited it out and got back on the road. 10 miles from Navasota, I took a wrong turn and got in bonus miles.
