Community celebrates upgrades to Noble E. Young Park in Tyler<\/a><\/h2>\n

The community gathered at Noble E. Young Park in Tyler on Saturday afternoon to celebrate renovations.<\/p>\n

The updated park features new restrooms and a new art mural, a new parking lot and location, a 1-mile long, 8-foot-wide walking trail, picnic tables and benches, a pavilion, a children’s bike park, and an outdoor gym.<\/p>\n

Leanne Robinette, director of Parks and Recreations for the City of Tyler, introduced the event and also helped participate in the ribbon cutting. She said she was excited to see this work completed.<\/p>\n

Steeper hills: Bastrop to west Austin<\/h4>\n

Sunday April 16, 2023, 55 miles (89 km) – Total so far: 1,558 miles (2,507 km)\nOh boy, I hit steeper hills today. The first 35 miles into Austin from Bastrop was a cakewalk compared to the last 18 miles. The terrain was rolling from Bastrop into Austin and I was in the eastern outskirts of Austin by 10:30. I’ve mentioned before that large cities are always a pain due to the volume of traffic and turns.<\/p>\n

Today’s ride through the city was no different. Austin held its largest running event this morning with 15,000 runners and it had closed a bunch of roads. Fortunately, it had just completed by the time I made it downtown. Some big motorcycle race or event must have been going on at a raceway on the eastern side of town because I saw hundreds of motorcyclists and cars all streaming into the racetrack. They were all going east while I was on the other side of the road going west. But it did clog the road due to the police directing traffic for miles.<\/p>\n
