The forecast warned about late morning scattered rain followed by more rain in the afternoon. I started the ride at 8:32 AM aboard my Canyon Endurace bike, After riding north yesterday today I went south and east to Spanish Cove Drive through Atascocita, Walden, across Lake Houston, and south on FM 2100. Before getting to Spanish Cove Drive I saw one group of cyclists on Fairlake Lane and another group on Old Atascocita Road. The <strong>Atascocita &#8211; Walden &#8211; Spanish Cove Drive<\/strong> route is one of the more frequent ones I ride with today being the 15th time in 2023. I rode 35.67 miles which is the average distance this year. I changed the streets a little riding through Elm Grove Village during the first 2 miles but not enough to impact the overall distance. That goal was achieved. Not too much later I heard thunder and rain fell. Today&#8217;s weather: Start 79 degrees, 87% humidity, dew point 74.6, mostly cloudy, wind calm: 86 degrees, 70% humidity, overcast, wind S 6 mph. The below 80 temperature at the start felt good until I warmed up and started sweating.
