The ATP was one of six municipal projects to receive a CLIDE Award and shared honors in the Public Planning and Policy category with the City of Lewisville. This category recognizes a local government or public-private partnership for \u201cimplementing a program or policy that facilitates and promotes various aspects of the principles of development excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Approved by the City Council early this year, the ATP was developed throughout 2022, a citywide effort to connect all active transportation elements\u2014pedestrian, bicycle, transit and \u201cmicro-mobility\u201d (e-scooters and bikeshare)\u2014to leverage existing infrastructure, capitalize on future transportation projects, and create a network that is more accessible and usable by all ages and abilities in Richardson. \u201cCommunity input helped create a vision and a set of guiding principles for how Richardson will ensure that the walking, bicycling, and rolling needs of the community will be accommodated,\u201d stated NCTCOG in a press release.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.krgv.com\/news\/cyclist-hospitalized-after-being-struck-by-vehicle-in-edinburg-spokesperson-says\">Cyclist hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in Edinburg, spokesperson says<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>www.krgv.com<\/h4>\n<p>A 49-year-old Edinburg man is hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle while cycling, according to a city spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>Officers with the Edinburg Police Department responded to the 1000 block of East University Drive Friday shortly before 11 p.m. where they encountered the cyclist who had been struck, according to city spokeswoman Roxanne Lerma.<\/p>\n<p>The cyclist was hospitalized due to possible internal injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The driver remained at the scene and \u201cthere was no intoxication involved,\u201d Lerma added.<\/p>\n<p>Edinburg police are investigating the incident, Lerma said, adding that charges haven\u2019t been filed against the driver.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kvue.com\/article\/money\/economy\/boomtown-2040\/new-phase-of-construction-south-congress-stassney\/269-cdcbcea0-6b72-4747-bb80-b22a2effedb3\">Video: New phase of construction on South Congress and Stassney Lane to begin on Monday<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Author: Johann Castro | www.kvue.com<\/h4>\n<p>The project, which began in May, is designed to reduce crashes in the area.<\/p>\n<p>AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Construction crews working on safety improvements near the intersection of South Congress Avenue and Stassney Lane will begin a new phase of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Starting Monday crews will begin work on the south side of Stassney Lane.<\/p>\n<p>The project is funded by the City of Austin Mobility Bond funds and Capital Metro and is in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation. I started off fairly well, but surprisingly started cramping about 30 miles into the ride. Jeff was very kind and always waited for me. trying to encourage me to push through it. Thankfully, a lady working at the Shell station in Comfort gave me a large cup of pickle juice for free, and that greatly helped alleviate the cramps. I know I\u2019m just mentally and physically exhausted at this point, and this was also my third ride in as many days.
