Bike camp helps some gain independence<\/a><\/h2>\n

HARKER HEIGHTS \u2014 Learning to ride a bike can be challenging for many people; however, Variety, a children\u2019s charity, hosted the \u201cI can shine\u201d event and concentrated on giving wheels to 18 participants this week at the Harker Heights Recreation Center.<\/p>\n

Variety partnered with The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas and the Autism Society of Texas to put on this week-long event.<\/p>\n

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -The Bryan-College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking public input as they plan updates to its Transportation Improvement Plan and Metropolitan Transportation Plan.<\/p>\n

These revisions align with the state\u2019s efforts to increase funding for infrastructure projects statewide, including Highway 6 in Brazos County.<\/p>\n

Collaborating with the Bryan-College Station MPO, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing enhancements for a 14-mile segment of SH 6, spanning from US 190\/SH 21 to SH 40\/William D. Fitch Parkway. \u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 Presently, Highway 6 consists of two lanes in each direction, auxiliary lanes, limited sidewalks, and bicycle accommodations, separated by either a grassy median or concrete traffic barrier. According to plans released by TxDOT, the project entails expanding the roadway from four to six lanes, improving frontage roads, incorporating local access lanes, and constructing bicycle lanes and sidewalks. \u2026<\/p>\n

An Edinburg man accused of hitting and killing a cyclist on July 9 would become \u201csporadically\u201d agitated during an interview with police, according to a probable cause affidavit.<\/p>\n

Alan Nicolas Rios, 19, was charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle and accident involving death after he allegedly struck and killed 36-year-old Amilcar Gomez.<\/p>\n
