Long-awaited $2.9M Violet Crown Trail extension complete; public invited to celebrate<\/a><\/h2>\n

The community is invited to help officials celebrate the completion of the $2.9 million Violet Crown Trail-North project July 29 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Home Depot Boulevard in Sunset Valley.<\/p>\n

In a nutshell<\/p>\n

A collaborative effort among the city of Austin\u2019s Urban Trails Program, the city of Sunset Valley and the Hill Country Conservancy, the project was about 10 years in the making.<\/p>\n

Funding for the project includes:<\/p>\n

$1.77 million from a Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization grant\n$1.2 million from the 2016 mobility bond\n$550,000 from the 2012 bond\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
