Thanks to him and several other individuals making this event a huge success for Wichita Falls each and every year. He came up to the studio recently to talk about the history of the event and how you can be a part of it. With Hotter N Hell One Hundred less than a week away, community members in Wichita Falls and the surrounding areas enjoy hosting out-of-town guests.<\/p>\n<p>As hotels availability are low, Host Homes gives riders a chance to participant in the event. Over the years, cyclist have formed relationships with hosts and book their stays a year in advance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt brings the community and the riders together in a different way. Like I said there are probably somewhere between 2,500 to 3,500 people are staying in host homes every year and it makes it possible for folks that can\u2019t afford the hotel to rates to continue to come and ride with us in Hotter N Hell 100,\u201d said Chip Filer, executive director of HHH.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kristv.com\/news\/local-news\/bicyclist-killed-in-car-crash-near-staples-and-lipes-intersection\">Bicyclist killed in car crash near Staples and Lipes intersection<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>By: Myra Sanchez | www.kristv.com<\/h4>\n<p>CORPUS CHRISTI, TX \u2014 A bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in a crash Sunday night near Snappy\u2019s Food, according to Corpus Christi police.<\/p>\n<p>CCPD officers were dispatched to the 7100 block of South Staples Street in reference to a major traffic accident on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at about 10:42 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived they discovered it was a vehicle versus a pedi-cyclist crash. Officers then located the bicyclist and began first aid immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was then transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries,\u201d stated CCPD PIO Antonio Contreras.<\/p>\n<p>According to traffic investigators, \u2026<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newschannel6now.com\/2023\/08\/22\/final-preparations-hottern-hell-hundred\/\">Video: Final preparations for Hotter\u2019N Hell Hundred<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>By Ernest Strawther III | www.newschannel6now.com<\/h4>\n<p>WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) &#8211; The last and final preparations are taking place this week as the 42nd annual Hotter\u2019N Hell Hundred Bike Ride will kick off Saturday, August 26.<\/p>\n<p>City officials and HHH organizers expect a turnout of more than 10,000 riders once late registration is complete.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe City of Wichita Falls is so grateful,\u201d said City of Wichita Falls Public Information Officer, Chris Horgen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad that we do HHH every year and how we keep it going and growing since it started,\u201d Horgen said.<\/p>\n<p>Hotter\u2019N Hell Hundred was started as a celebration of the centennial of Wichita Falls. Round trip is about 20 miles. The trail is paved for the entire distance, with a very interesting 1\/2 mile hill on the outbound. We\u2019ll regroup at the top of the hill on the outbound and at the Abrupt End for a group phot op. Many pedestrians are growing concerned as they do not feel safe walking or crossing the street.<\/p>\n<p>A man riding his bike along this Winters freeway was hit by a car. The bicyclist is currently in the hospital, but his condition has not yet been confirmed.
