The repair requires removing some of the roadway, and reinforcing the supports, requiring lane closures, said Raynese Edwards, spokeswoman for Blueridge Transportation Group, the private firm that manages both the tollway and maintenance along Texas 288. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026 While the work is affecting traffic from now until the end of the year, the problem dates to last year, when the wall problems were first identified following work along the bayou. The parks board and Blueridge agreed in 2021 to let parks officials build a bike trail along Sims beneath Texas 288. The parks board then hired Missouri City-based Millis Development and Construction to build the path along the bayou, which is controlled by the Harris County Flood Control Authority. Work was underway by early 2022.<\/p>\n<p>In a lawsuit Blueridge filed last in September 2022, the company claims during the trail construction, crews removed concrete and steel reinforcements that acted as a breakwater for the bayou.
