In the Face of Change, Third Ward Is Holding onto Its Rich History<\/a><\/h2>\n

The Houston neighborhood is experiencing a revival that, despite challenges, has held onto its roots.\n\"\"\/<\/p>\n

Veon McReynolds, seen here whizzing around Third Ward on his bike, has shared his passion for cycling with Tour de Hood.<\/p>\n

On a steamy September evening, Veon McReynolds hops on his bike and pedals out of the Tour de Hood compound in Third Ward, leading a group of riders behind him. His bike\u2019s multicolored lights shine brighter as the sun sinks into the sky.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can ride, too!\u201d he shouts, inviting a woman getting out of her car and walking toward a restaurant. She shakes her head, laughs, and smiles over at McReynolds. He keeps pedaling faster down Almeda Road.<\/p>\n

McReynolds founded Tour de Hood, an organization that leads weekly bike rides through Third Ward and other parts of Houston, in 2003. Besides being an avid \u2026<\/p>\n
