Though I spend a lot of time on my bike and once traversed the 3,014-mile perimeter of Texas, I prefer to stick to roads of asphalt or gravel. Luckily we weren\u2019t there to put on a demonstration, just to preview the park and chat with its teenage owner and creator, Rhett Jones.<\/p>\n<p>After speaking with Jones, we climbed to the top of the park on our bikes via the shuttle road that bisects the 129-acre property. Actually, my son ditched me halfway up to check out the jump lines near the bottom. In today\u2019s video I\u2019ll be competing in the expert Ebike class shredding the trails on my tricked-out Orbea Rise. Flat Creek Crossing continues to be closed to the public, so it was a great opportunity to suit up and shred the awesome trails.  Todays race stages include Lookout, Snakeskin, Mind The Gap, Texas Two Step and Saloon! It is, unapologetically, the pre-Unbound test for many riders. In turn, Gravel Locos reflects the race in a number of ways.<\/p>\n<p>First off, its long course is a full 150 miles and, like Kansas, those miles are often done in hot, humid conditions. Secondly, it doesn\u2019t have long climbs, only small, but repetitive punches that each rider must weather.
