We all got our hopes up thinking Water Wonderland would be resurrected to discover that it was demolished and turned into a commercial property.<\/p>\n<p>There are all kinds of little hidden gems around the Basin that you may not know about. Most of them are in places that we thought would be too cold for mountain biking in the winter, including Wyoming, Canada, and Minnesota, but it looks like the riders in these locations think differently<\/p>\n<p>\u2026Spider Mountain Bike Park \u2013 Burnet, TX\nDespite the common saying that everything is bigger in Texas, Spider Mountain stands as a unique exception. It proudly holds the title of being the first and only bike park in North America with year-round lift-accessed trails. However, it distinguishes itself by its modest vertical drop of just 350 feet from top to bottom, making it one of the more compact bike parks in the running. First, I got semi-lost on the way over, ending up somewhere in a tangle of social trails at the end of Severe Consequences.<\/p>\n<p>When I got close to the entry trail to BMX Loop, I noticed a guy approaching on a bike with squeaky rim brakes and a nice front basket, blasting music.
