Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy and equitable mobility, the website states.

The website states the program was first implemented in Sweden in the 1990s. The Boyd Police Department went in a different direction when it came to a local student who was struggling to get to school.

Officer Jason Gross with the Boyd Police Department made a deal with a local Boyd ISD student who kept missing school this school year. The department held up their end of the bargain, surprising the student with a new bike.

In a social media post shared Wednesday, Boyd PD said that Gross met the student earlier this school year after his mother asked the officer to talk to him about his absences. The student had missed an alarming amount of school.

While discussing the issue, the student said he didn’t have the energy to walk several blocks to school. So Gross had an idea.

The officer asked if the student had a bike, which would allow him to get to school quicker and with less effort. …

Southern Tier El Paso to New Orleans

By Cortney O. | www.crazyguyonabike.com

Day 33:Shepherd to Silsbee: Underestimated our mileage and played dodge the dog ALL DAY LONG

Tuesday February 13, 2024, 75 miles (121 km) – Total so far: 1,070 miles (1,722 km)
First off, we use a lot of things to plan.
