The Transportation &amp; Public Works Department will start construction this month on a new bike lane from the east side of downtown to Gateway Park.<\/p>\n<p>With design consultation from Kimley-Horn &amp; Associates, the $2.9 million project is funded by the North Central Texas Council of Government\u2019s Transportation Alternatives Project + located in Council Districts 8 + 11. \u2026<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/news.rice.edu\/news\/2024\/rice-keeps-rolling-houston-bcycle\">Rice keeps rolling with Houston BCycle<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Sam Byrd | news.rice.edu<\/h4>\n<p>Owls can receive discounted monthly memberships\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/news.rice.edu\/news\/2024\/rice-keeps-rolling-houston-bcycle\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Rice University is welcoming a familiar service back to campus: Houston BCycle. In addition, by signing up with their rice.edu email addresses, Rice Owls are able to purchase discounted $14 monthly subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>Monthly members enjoy unlimited rides of up to 60 minutes in duration each. Participants may purchase individual month-long memberships or set the account to automatically renew. Owner Paul Littlefield opened the bike shop in Georgetown in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Cyclewerx sells a variety of bicycles and provides services and repairs for cyclists of all ages, including flat tire repair and basic maintenance classes.
