Levelland student gifts new bicycle to peer in need<\/a><\/h2>\n

LEVELLAND, Texas \u2014 In a heartwarming display of generosity, one student, Julian Guerrero, at Levelland High School went above and beyond to help a peer in need. (The recipient\u2019s family preferred he remain anonymous, but expressed gratitude for Julian\u2019s selfless act).<\/p>\n

It was Random Acts of Kindness Day at Levelland ISD in mid-February, and Julian recognized that his classmate was walking to and from school because his bicycle had seen better days.<\/p>\n

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -Thousands of bicycle helmets were given away Thursday in hopes of inspiring our kids to practice bike and sports safety.<\/p>\n

Second graders from across the Brazos Valley came out to the annual Hard Hats for Little Heads event at Reed Arena. Hard Hats for Little Heads was created by the Texas Medical Association in 1994 to educate children about how to prevent head injuries.<\/p>\n

Texas ENT & Allergy, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Texas A&M Athletics and Texas Medical Association, along with supporting sponsors want to encourage child safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cKids need to stay active,\u201d said Dr. Andrew de Jong, a board-certified otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon. \u201cYou\u2019ve heard the recent statistics about 1 billion people in our world are obese. We need to stay active but they need to stay in school. We\u2019ve got this \u2026<\/p>\n
