The City of Laredo will host a proclamation ceremony on Wednesday, May 1 to dedicate May as National Bike Month.<\/p>\n

Laredo is holding the proclamation to advocate for active transportation and bicycle safety.<\/p>\n

National Bike Month will be celebrated through a partnership with the Laredo & Webb County Area Metropolitan Planning Organization\u2019s Active Transportation Committee and Bike Laredo. They will promote events include Bike to Work Day on May 17 and Bike to Work Week from May 13-19 along with other activities.<\/p>\n

The National Bike Month Proclamation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Blas Casta\u00f1eda Park located at 5700 McPherson Rd.<\/p>\n

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) \u2014 Pharr police provided an update on a fatal crash involving a child who was riding a bicycle.<\/p>\n

At 7:30 p.m. April 26, Pharr police responded to a call at the 700 block of E. Eller Street regarding an auto-pedestrian accident involving a young boy on a bicycle.<\/p>\n

According to police, an accident investigation revealed that a male driver was backing out of an apartment complex and then proceeded to travel forward, eastbound, on Eller Street where the boy was riding a bicycle and was struck by the truck. \u2026<\/p>\n
