Cyclist in critical condition after allegedly riding wrong way, colliding with vehicle<\/a><\/h2>\n

SAN ANTONIO – A cyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a driver on the Northwest side.<\/p>\n

Police responded to calls of a motor vehicle accident around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday near the corner of Babcock Road and Eckhert Road.<\/p>\n

Officers on the scene allege that the cyclist was riding the wrong way, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Babcock Road, when he was struck by a driver pulling out of a restaurant.<\/p>\n

The cyclist, a man in his 20\u2019s, was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n

The driver of the vehicle did stop at the scene. There are no signs of intoxication from either person.<\/p>\n

The accident is still under investigation.<\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2013 Ivan Perez is a local veteran who found his life turned upside down while serving as a Marine in Iraq.<\/p>\n

In 2007, Perez was shot by a sniper twice. One bullet went into his hand, the other went into his back and came out of his right hip.<\/p>\n

Perez was immediately flown back to the U.S. in a coma. When he woke up, he was told he was paralyzed in both legs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got stuck in the \u2018What now?\u2019 moment for a long time. It\u2019s very draining. It\u2019s something that makes you feel hopeless at times,\u201d Perez said.<\/p>\n

KATY, Texas \u2013 A little boy died Thursday night after investigators in West Harris County say a driver crashed into him and even dragged the bicycle for a short period while fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n

It happened right before 11 p.m., on the Fourth of July, according to Captain Marcus Kinnard-Bing with Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office – Vehicular Crimes Division. Responding officers found the unidentified boy, 10, down in the middle of the intersection of Windy Stone and Concord Green in Katy. \u2026<\/p>\n
