I paused the race with 20km to go to get ready to ride. I wasn&#8217;t sure if my neck and shoulder muscles would do better today. I think the problem partially came from hunching my shoulders so today I tried to keep my arms down and elbows in. I chose a northerly route, <strong>Kingwood-Community Drive-Valley Ranch<\/strong>. I knew it would be longer than yesterday&#8217;s ride but I didn&#8217;t look up previous rides to see how much. Checking after the ride the average distance around 27 miles and today I rode 26.59 miles. I started at 10:52 AM and finished at 1:26 PM. My neck muscles did much better today. Weather: Start 88 degrees, humidity 72%, dew point 77.7, mostly cloudy with haze, wind S 8 mph; Finish 93 degrees, humidity 57%, dew point 75.5, a few clouds, wind S 12 mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This closes out July&#8217;s rides and I fell short of my 930 mile goal with only 250 miles.
