Friends of Northaven Trail to Offer Bike and Helmet Checks Sept. 7<\/a><\/h2>\n

Friends of Northaven Trail will host bike and helmet checks at four locations throughout the day Sept. 7. Bikers can enjoy free Howdy Ice Cream while getting a bike and helmet safety check.<\/p>\n

The four locations include Edgemere from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Semones Family YMCA from noon to 1:30 p.m., Royal Park from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Pensive Trail Head from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

A Plainview native is set to pound the pavement on his bike to help fundraise for childhood cancer research.\nCris Salinas is taking part in his fifth year of riding his bike for the Great Cycle Challenge, a nationwide cycling fundraiser hosted by the Children\u2019s Cancer Research Fund. During September, Salinas plans to bike 400 miles and raise $1,000 for research, which will be an increase from last year\u2019s goal of 300 miles for $500.<\/p>\n

The Midwestern State University Cycling team got off to a hot start for Fall 2024 in the 43rd Hotter\u2019N Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls.<\/p>\n

Veteran pro rider Du\u0161an Kalaba of the Mustangs was second in the Men\u2019s Pro\/Cat 1 criterium race, and freshman Blake Keeling from Tyler, Texas, took second in Men\u2019s Cat 4\/5 in both criterium and mountain bike races. Juan Carlos Flores was first in the men\u2019s Cat 2 mountain bike race, and Jadiel Moreno was third in the Men\u2019s Cat 3-4 criterium.<\/p>\n
