We expect 400 riders and 100 volunteers to participate.<\/p>\n<p>WHAT THE AUTISM SOCIETY OF GREATER AUSTIN DOES:<br \/>\n* provides information and support to families all over Texas who are affected by autism through our meetings, workshops, phone line, website and listserv;<br \/>\n* responds to inquiries from professionals, elected officials and members of the community about autism and best practices;<br \/>\n* advocates for Texans with autism at the state level (during the 2009 legislative session, we worked tirelessly on HB 1574, dedicated to improving adult services and creating a statewide autism resource center\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe bill passed!)<\/p>\n<p>With the dramatic increase in the incidence of autism over the past couple decades\u00e2\u20ac\u201dfrom about 1 in 1,000 births 20 years ago to about 1 in 110 births now\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe demand for our services has grown beyond the capacity of our all-volunteer staff.\u00c2\u00a0 We would like to expand, and we hope you can help.<\/p>\n<p>This ride is scheduled, but details are not yet up. Check the ride site for registration and details in the coming months. This ride benefits the Autism Society of Greater Austin (ASGA), the local chapter of the Autism Society of America.
