Tired legs plus a slight downhill is not greater than a mild headwind. Even though the wind was relatively mild my legs were still needing to recover from yesterday’s fast ride. Perfect weather made today’s ride great with temperatures in the mid 70’s and clear blue sky. No dog sprint today which is a relief because a turtle could have matched me today. I decided to wear a long sleeve jersey because the wind was a little cool in the shade and to protect me from sunburn.<\/p>\n

No other riders out today as far as I could tell.<\/p>\n

Today will be a great recovery day with about 5 hours of bike racing on TV with the Giro d’Italia and the Tour of California. It will be a stretch this week with both races on TV.<\/p>\n

I made my goal for the week at 127.17 <\/strong>miles. This was without riding one day due to the rain. May miles are 312.15<\/strong> and year to date is 1814.82<\/strong>. The average speed today was 14.5 mph which is not surprising. Average cadence was 78.1 rpm. Maximum speed was 21.8 mph.<\/p>\n
