Crows are early risers. As I started my ride this morning my progress was relayed from crow group to crow group. I do not notice these in the evening when I ride but they could be drowned out by the general noise. Another observation is that lawn sprinklers can start at any moment and they don’t always spray just the yard. While this could be cooling in the evening the morning temperature is not in the 90’s. In fact today the 74 degree temperature held from start to finish. Wind was calm and the clear sky enabled the sun to broadcast a beautiful sunrise. Humidity was a heavy 81%. I did not start quite as early as I planned because the daylight was slow getting up but I was only 9 minutes later. I saw numerous people out walking their dogs and some early joggers but no bikers.<\/p>\n

With the early ride I can now enjoy the Criterium du Dauphine and the Tour of Switzerland on Versus this afternoon when I get home from a church meeting. Hopefully my wife does not get bike race overload.<\/p>\n

Today’s 24.68 miles<\/strong> puts the week total at 165.35 miles, <\/strong>June miles are now 286.90 <\/strong>and the year to date miles at 2464.61<\/strong>. The average speed was 15.4 mph with a max speed of 24.4 mph. Average cadence was 81.9 rpm.<\/p>\n
