Richardson, News Messenger<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"template\"><span class=\"body\">Charles Fletcher has always been spontaneous.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>He and his wife Gloria have been hiking mountains around the world \u00e2\u20ac\u201d from the French Alps to the Smokys \u00e2\u20ac\u201d since their 30s. He climbed his last one, a major ice wall in Europe, at age 57.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"template\"><span class=\"body\">Now, at 84, Fletcher revels in riding his bicycle as a member of the Marshall Chain Gang, initially called The Marshall Bicycle Club.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s an adventurous person,&#8221; said Ben Bates, president of the club.<\/p>\n<p>Not even illness can slow him down.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s had cancer, can barely walk, but he gets on that bicycle,&#8221; Bates said.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Marshall News Messaenger\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marshallnewsmessenger.com\/featr\/content\/features\/stories\/2008\/070608_web_cycling.html\" target=\"_blank\">link to the full story<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>from marshallnewsmessenger.com By Robin Y.
