This evening’s ride was the normal one except for the 95 degrees at the start, the 17.3 mph SE wind gusting to 23 mph and the black cloud of diesel fumes as I neared the end of the ride. The fumes were caused by a growling lifted pickup with a diesel tailpipe the size of my leg. From this pipe came a dark, strong smelling all encompassing cloud of black smoke. The 13 mph breeze helped to move the dark cloud away and I rode on home.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I did not ride so that I could go to the Houston WordPress Meetup. I learn many things from these meetups that help me create the Texbiker.net website. Last night was no exception.<\/p>\n

I was riding slower today with an average speed of 14.8 mph over the 27.39 miles<\/strong> and only managed a 20.3 mph max speed. Average cadence was 78.4 RPM. June mileage status:<\/p>\n
