Three years ago, the future of the youth mountain biking team at the Camacho Center was uncertain.<\/p>\n
Someone had broken into the mobile storage shed behind the center, stealing 25 bikes valued at about $200 apiece. More than a dozen young cyclists were temporarily without wheels \u00e2\u20ac\u201d until community support poured in. Within a month, the fleet had been replenished…<\/p>\n
…This week, marking a complete turnaround from 2005’s difficulties, nine team members traveled to Vermont to compete in the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships.<\/p>\n
