Riding during the middle day in July can give an appreciation to the phrase “Hot Wheels”. My home weather station showed 99 degrees when I finished today’s ride at 1:21PM. Fortunately the humidity was at 41% which meant the steam effect was not so pronounced. Partly cloudy skies presented some nice fluffy figures in the sky and the light 8 mph southeast wind was a nice cooler when I was in the shade. I did not see any other riders which is not surprising given the heat.<\/p>\n

I rode the route in a different direction in some of the sections plus I went on a longer ride than I usually do on Sunday. This was an attempt to recover the miles I missed by not riding last Wednesday. Today I rode 28.52 miles<\/strong> at an average speed of 15.3 mph. Max speed was 20.8 mph and average cadence was 78.8 RPM. Mileage for the week was 133.55<\/strong>, July miles are now 210.75<\/strong> and year to date is 3049.83<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
