It was only 55 miles, so we didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think anything of it. However, for the first 20 miles or so the pavement was rougher than any we had experienced on the entire trip. There was no shoulder on the road, and Texas drivers seemed to be in a hurry that morning.
