The bicycle race that winds through some of the more hilly parts of Taylor County takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The race begins and ends in Buffalo Gap, and coincides with the most prestigious cycling race in the world, the Tour de France.<\/p>\n
Cyclists of all experiences can find a race to participate in — the Tour offers race lengths of 10, 25, 48 and 70 miles. There also will be a family route available. The Tour de Gap will take participants on two-lane roads, past wind turbines and along highways south of Buffalo Gap.<\/p>\n
To register for the event, cyclists can go to Biketown, 1433 S. 1st St. and pay a preregistration fee of $25. Registration on Saturday costs $30.<\/p>\n
