Earlier in the day we got .17″ of rain according to my rain gauge. This helped to lower the temperature some for this evening’s ride. As I was heading back home the clouds started to thicken to the northeast and the temperature dropped several degrees. This helped make the ride more enjoyable but I was concerned that I might get wet before I got back home. It was 89.6 degrees at the finish and the wind was from the southeast at 3 to 4 mph. The drought conditions are still hanging on and Lake Houston is getting lower by the day.<\/p>\n

Riding was pleasant and I was looking forward to the ride but I did shorten the route by a mile or so since the clouds were getting thicker and the sun was going behind them. I rode an even 24 miles<\/strong> at a 15.0 average speed. I did get up 20.7 mph and the average cadence was 79.6 RPM. July miles are 386.92<\/strong> and YTD miles are 3226.01<\/strong>. I saw several other bikers out riding.<\/p>\n
