We will have courses emphasizing safety and basic skills to make riding more enjoyable. After breakfast and some episodes of &#8220;Man vs. Food&#8221; (a show where an extremely unhealthy nonkettlebeller travels the country eating really delicious looking but in reality artery clogging food as well as doing food eating challenges.\u00c2\u00a0 For example: he had to eat a grilled cheese sandwich with 14 different types of cheese on it.) The meetup starts at 9:30 a.m. in Main Street Garden Park. Routes of 22, 34, 43, and 70 miles.<br \/>\nThis ride is essentially a reverse of the popular Woman Hollering Creek Ride with a few new twists.\u00c2\u00a0 The ride begins\/ends at Britzke&#8217;s Restaurant in New Berlin.\u00c2\u00a0 After the ride, there will be an opportunity to have lunch at Britzke&#8217;s.\u00c2\u00a0 Directions: Take Loop 1604 South (past Randolph AFB) and exit I-10.\u00c2\u00a0 Take I-10 East to the Trainer Hale exit. Turn right on Trainer Hale. Contact: Cliff Hickel, 210-884-9470 or Tom Manning, 210-496-2351<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/texasracinglife.com\/2011\/09\/20\/cotton-patch-criterium-2011\/\" href=\"http:\/\/texasracinglife.com\/2011\/09\/20\/cotton-patch-criterium-2011\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Cotton Patch Criterium 2011<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nby Ken\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0Texas Racing Life<br \/>\nAfter an 85 mile road race, I woke to find soreness in my legs, but nothing that I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t handle!\u00c2\u00a0 My crit was at 11 am.\u00c2\u00a0 The overnight rain had kept the temperature cooler for the P12 field and I\u00c2\u00a0 used 2 bottles of water and a couple of gels to keep me company on my bike.\u00c2\u00a0 Also, I was glad that my parents came out to watch the race.<\/p>\n<p>The course was a squiggly rectangle, that went up and over a bridge on each lap.\u00c2\u00a0 The first time up the bridge was into a right-to-left crosswind, followed by a tailwind into the fast finishline.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing my plan to race conservatively this weekend, I made sure to stay in the draft and only follow moves that I thought were sure to be relevant. Halfway through the race, Carlos Vargas and Stefan Rothe were able to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/texasracinglife.com\/2011\/09\/20\/cotton-patch-omnium-2011\/\" href=\"http:\/\/texasracinglife.com\/2011\/09\/20\/cotton-patch-omnium-2011\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Cotton Patch Omnium 2011<\/strong><\/span><\/a><br \/>\nby Ken\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0Texas Racing Life<br \/>\nThe stars finally aligned, and Ally and I had a 3-day weekend together.\u00c2\u00a0 We migrated north back to Garland to spend some time with family.\u00c2\u00a0 I would also race my bike.<\/p>\n<p>This would be the second time racing the Cotton Patch.\u00c2\u00a0 After a disastrous road race last weekend,\u00c2\u00a0 I was feeling a bit timid and likened my chances to placing well in the race to similar odds of the University of North Texas beating Alabama in football the same weekend.\u00c2\u00a0 The spread in Vegas for that game was 45 points.
