That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the question posed by Mykle Hansen in the intro to his Speed Vest project from MAKE Volume 19.<\/p>\n<p>Bicyclists receive a lot of honk-based grief from car drivers who perceive them as slow and in the way, and when drivers misjudge a bicycle\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s speed, it can cause \u00e2\u20ac\u0153right hook\u00e2\u20ac\u009d collisions that kill several bicyclists each year. This lightweight night-cycling vest displays your current speed in glowing, 7-inch-tall numbers easily visible to cars. These include Houston\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s first-ever bicycle parking ordinances.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed bike parking requirements (outlined in Section XII on Page 15) would require one bike parking space for every 25,000 square feet of gross floor area (GFA). Buildings with less than 5,000 sq. ft. GFA would not be required to have bike parking.
