About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Half Calf Benefit Bike Ride – Cedar Park, TX

Texbiker.net Posted on October 5, 2011 by Rick AnkrumOctober 5, 2011

HALF CALF Benefit Bike Ride
200 South Vista Ridge Blvd., Cedar Park, Texas
Saturday, November 12, 2011

Online Registration Closing Date Thursday, November 10, 2011 @ 11:59 PM US/Central

The Vista Ridge FFA Alumni, hosts of the annual Cow Patty Classic Benefit Bike Ride, are very excited to invite you to join us for the second annual HALF CALF Benefit Bike Ride. Just like the Cow Patty Classic, this ride will start and end at Vista Ridge High School and follow the same route, only this ride includes only HALF the distance of the Cow Patty Classic. Get it “Half Calf!” Oh dear…how we crack ourselves up!

However, we decided to add the 75 mile route back in, just for fun, for those looking for a nice, fully supported ride at a bit of a longer distance. All routes – 25, 50 & 75 mile – feature moderate to intermediate level courses with rolling hills and beautiful scenery.

This is a fully supported ride for riders at any stage of training with multiple rest stops (with snacks & sport drinks), clear directional signage, and bicycle mechanics. And of course, dont forget a complimentary ride t-shirt and goodie bag! T-shirts and goodie bags can only be guaranteed for those who pre-register by November 4, 2011. After that date, they will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Our event website will soon be updated with pertinent ride information and contains photos of our previous Cow Patty Classic Benefit Bike Ride held in April, 2011. Please click the link below to view the event website.

Routes will have a stagger start beginning at 8:00AM. Pre-registered cyclist check-in will begin at 7:00AM. On-site Registration will begin at 6:30AM. Entry fees are $30.00 per cyclist registered by November 4, 2010. $35.00 per cyclist registered on November 5th and after. Cyclists can register the day of the ride for a $40.00 registration fee.
