Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Brief Description
Benefits special needs children, sending them to the Texas Lions Camp free of charge. Scholarships for nurses.

FREEZE YOUR FANNY is the only fundraiser for East Texas Lightnin Special Olympics athletes. We hope you enjoy your time with us and enjoy the beauty of East Texas during one of the scenic routes. Remember to come early and enjoy the before and after eats.

Start Time Details:
Run begins @ 8:30 a.m.
Ride begins @ 10:00 a.m.

Remember! The first 300 ride entries get the great longsleeve event tshirt and the first 100 run entries get a great longsleeve event tshirt…HURRY!

Century, 50, 40, 30, 10 miles
Our Coordinator says, “Prepare yourself for the hills.” The same hills are included in the 5k and 10k runs.

Happy New Rear Bike Ride – Blue Ridge, TX

Happy New Rear Bike Ride 2011

With T-shirt: $30 through December 1st.
Without T-shirt: $15 through Dec 1st; $20 through December 31 and $25 on January 1

Start Time
January 1st is on a Saturday this year, so we want to make it easy to get to the start on time. Cyclists may start as early as 10am – but you can start as late as 11am. You read that right. We will offer a one-hour start window to accommodate your schedule.

Great Routes
We offer routes of 15, 28 and 40 miles. Come on out and enjoy a nice ride in the country. Break Points along the way, some even have indoor plumbing.

Comfy Start Site
Our start site is the Community Center in Blue Ridge, located at 200 W. Tilton Street, Blue Ridge, TX 75424. It is warm and cozy, with indoor plumbing, a coffee pot and plenty of room for eating and sharing stories with your friends.

Day of Ride Registration
We do offer registration on the day of the ride. It is $25.

Additional Information
The Tradition Returns
For several years, new friends and old friends have been joining me for a nice bike ride in the country – with some black-eyed peas and cornbread for dessert. This year we are bringing back our same traditional riding and eating experience, with a bit of a twist or two.
