About Texbiker.net

Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Ride to Remember « Pit’s Bicycle Blog
by Pit
Last Saturday [Sept. 11] I took part in the Ride to Remember  in Poth/TX.  It wasn’t really “my day”, as I didn’t feel too chirpy in the morning. And added to this, the weather was really murky: hot [around 80] and humid [more than 90% relative humidity]. This didn’t make me feel good. I decided to get on anyway, tough.  But I did choose the shortest [but for the “rookie” course] route: 22 miles. That went well with me and I had a good average: 16.8 mph. Dripping with sweat, though. Well, since it…

A very tough race. A technical course i would liken to Bike the Bricks or the old tuesday nighters Chris Watson used to put on in Ft. Worth. Everyone knew this was the course you had to start on the front line and keep good position … Todd and I started behind two guys who chose today to learn about the intricacies of the clipless pedal system and attempting a race start on the front line.
