Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

Enjoy a picturesque bicycle ride through East Texas with its towering pine trees and rolling hills. There are rides for everyone of every ability. The longest ride includes a short detour to a local winery for those interested. SAG wagons will be provided for those who decide not to ride home. The ride is fully supported with rest stops every 10 miles. Enjoy one of the best kept secrets in cycling …scenic East Texas!

The ride will start at Refuge House at 104 N Montgomery Gilmer, TX. Registration starts at 7:00AM on April 18, 2009. Ride starts at 8:00AM. T-shirts available for the first 100 registries, with others to be mailed out at a later date. Riders should be prepared to do their own tire change and repairs.

2010 BP MS 150 RECOMMENDED RIDE ~  22, 39 and 63 mile routes

Don’t want to drive out on Saturday morning? No problem, we have the answer for you. Come on out on Friday evening register for the ride and stay the night in one of Camp For All beautiful cabins. Bring a friend or your entire bike team!!
$25 per person
$300 for an entire cabin (sleeps 14 with bunk beds, will divide)
Linens, bedding, toiletries not provided. NO PETS PLEASE!
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for Friday night registration and check-in.
Gates will close at 10:30 p.m.

$50 per rider

Waller Junior High School presents the 4th Annual Bulldog Bike Ride and Pancake Breakfast.
Saturday, February 27, 2010; 8:00 am
Starts at Waller Junior High School in Waller, TX (approximately 20 miles west of HWY6 and 290).

• Choose from 25, 32, and 50-mile routes.
• Good country riding with low traffic volume and gentle rolling hills

Start Time
7:00 am to 9:00 am
In an effort to improve your parking and Start experience, this year’s start will be a ‘rolling’ start. The Start line will open at 7:00 am and riders will be welcome to begin their ride anytime between 7:00 am and 9:00 am.

The Rides
Countdown with McDonald’s and Space Center Houston characters will begin at 6:45 am. Riders will be released onto the routes at 7:00 am. The Start will remain open until 9:00 am. Each route (20, 42, 62, 77 and 104 miles) will be clearly marked with signage. The routes will be patrolled, providing basic mechanical support and first aid assistance.
