Texbiker.net covers the news, events and resources for those interested in Texas bicycling.

My bicycling passion was rekindled in 1979 with a Huffy bicycle from Woolco. From early rides around my neighborhood my enthusiasm grew to tackle my unsupported first century. From there I discovered organized rides all over Texas, races and mountain bikes. Many bikes and miles later the enthusiasm is still there.

Thanks to my late wife, Hazel Marie, for her support over the many years, miles and rides.

My primary bike is the Cervelo Caledonia Rival AXS below. My titanium bike is the Lynskey Helix titanium. My newest bike is a Canyon Endurace CF 7 Rival eTap.

USA Cycling Event USA Cycling Permit # 2010-377
Online Registration Will Open Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 7:00 PM ET

*  Course Map and more information can be found here:  www.velossimoracing.org/e107/page.php?9
* Road races will be held on a looped, open/exposed, mostly flat road course.  Each loop is 12.75 miles.
* Packet pickup and pre-registration at Jack and Adam’s Bicycles on Friday, March 26th, 4-7pm  (Jack and Adam’s Bicycles, 1210 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX ).  Pickup also at Ronde Von Manor race on Saturday, March 27th. BikeReg charges a service fee
* Late registration: Sunday opens at 6:30am at the Manda School House on Manda Carlson Road & closes 30 mins before each race ($10 one-time surcharge applies).  Also, one day & annual USCF licenses are available at registration.
* Parking: Park alongside road away from race course.  Follow signs/instructions of course marshalls.
* Directions:  From I-35 in Austin take US-290 East 17 miles and turn left (north) on FM-973. Go 4 miles and turn right on New Sweden Church Rd. Continue straight and then bear right onto Jacobson Rd. Take Jacobson Rd, then turn left onto Manda Carlson Rd. Parking is at the corner of Manda Carlson and New Sweden Church Rd.
* Helmets must be worn at all times on the bike and equipment must be in safe working order.

* Road races will be held on a looped, scenic, mostly flat road course with 1 climb each lap.  Each loop is 11.72 miles.
* Packet pickup and pre-registration at Jack and Adam’s Bicycles on Friday, March 26th, 4-7pm  (Jack and Adam’s Bicycles, 1210 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX ). BikeReg charges a service fee.

* Directions:  From Austin: (12.5 miles) STARTING  at IH-35 and HWY 290 EAST.  Drive EAST on HWY 290 passing the 290 Cafe in Manor. TURN RIGHT at blinking light onto OLD KIMBRO RD for 1 MILE.
